The UK's ultimate guide to Nova Scotia property and buying real estate in Canada's Atlantic playground
Travel advice
With more than ten years' experience of travel between Nova Scotia and the United Kingdom, we’re well placed to advise you on your travel arrangements, including flights, car hire and accommodation.
Take advantage of our network of contacts throughout the province when planning your home-hunting trip to Nova Scotia.
Flights
A number of airlines offer direct flights from London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Glasgow. In low season, flights can be as cheap as £280 return, including taxes and surcharges. Flying time is roughly 6 hours heading west, 5 hours heading east. Jet lag is less of a problem than other long-haul destinations, as the province is only 4 hours behind UK time.
For more details information about flights and other ways of getting to Nova Scotia, see Travel planning – Getting there.
Car Hire
Most major car rental firms have branches at Halifax International Airport. While some rentals are “all-inclusive”, check your agreement carefully, as others add a daily surcharge to the rental fee for airport pick up, and for other charges.
See Travel planning – Car hire for more information.
Accommodation
Nova Scotia offers a wide range of hotels, motels, B&Bs, campgrounds and resorts for visitors.
But rather than stay in a hotel or B&B, why not discover the cottage experience first hand? We have a number of cottages available to rent, that are not usually available on the open holiday rental market, and so offer the genuine experience of staying in a Nova Scotia "second home".
See Travel planning – Accommodation for more information.
