Bay of Fundy

Kings, Annapolis and Digby Counties

Ranging from Yarmouth in the east and along to coast up to the headwaters at the Minas Basin, the Bay of Fundy has a spectacular coast and the world’s highest tides. Naturally, the marine life is fascinating, but so is the history, as this area has settlements that date back 400 years.

Also known as the “Evangeline Trail” (after Longfellow’s famous epic poem about the expulsion of the Acadians), this is an area full of the fascinating history of the province. The lush farmland yields delicious fruit and vegetables for which the Annapolis Valley is famed.

For the second home buyer, the region offers beautiful scenery, well developed facilites and attractions, plus relative proximity to Halifax and the international airport.

Wolfville is a charming university town, home to Acadia University, the oldest in Canada, while New Minas and Kentville are useful shopping centres. Annapolis Royal, voted one of the most liveable small towns in the world, has more than 150 heritage buildings, including the oldest wooden house in Canada.
